Current Projects
Publications in Educational/Instructional Technology:
I am continuing to research this topic. Educational/Instructional Technology (E/IT) and related
faculty at
most universities are expected to fulfill many roles, the primary ones being teaching, research, and
service,
with teaching being the most visible. Conducting and evaluating research, as well as publishing scholarly works,
all play a prominent role for most of us, as we heavily depend upon publications to provide personal update
and to provide ideas for daily instruction and service work. However, the most prominent role of scholarly
publishing is that of a tool for faculty evaluation. This study compares the way journals are valued.
Communication Expectations Among
Students and Faculty:
Both students and faculty have certain
communication expectations, but has this changed as we progress into the
electronic culture? With traditional classes,
accessibility has often meant having scheduled office hours. What
kind of changes should there be with online
classes, and with the new technologies do students hold faculty to
greater accessibility? These are areas that I am
very much interested in and am currently researching. |
